Dr. Scates earned his undergraduate degree from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. He completed his otolaryngology residency at the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY.
